Ami bases all her classes on positive reinforcement techniques
and believes training should be fun and enjoyable for both you and
your pet. Puppy classes, intermediate classes and the more advanced agility classes will be offered in the evening for owners and their dogs. Private evening lessons with Ami are also available.
Ami Dobelle has been a professional animal trainer for domestic and exotic species since 1998. She became accredited as a Pet Trainer Instructor in 2004 and is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Test Evaluator.
She worked in the Florida Keys as a marine mammal trainer at the Theater of the Sea in Islamorada and Dolphin Connection on Duck Key. She has worked with various species of animals such as dolphins, sea lions, and raptors. She has also worked on the training and conditioning of many species of sharks, sea turtles, stingrays and tropical fish.
Ami has a B.A. in Psychology with Animal Behavior Concentration from the University of Delaware with a double minor in Biology and Art. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), AKC Good Citizen Evaluator and a member of the International Marine Animal Trainers Association (IMATA). Ami has been featured Dog Trainer on both NBC’s Today Show and the WB’s Morning News Show.

 Laura Waddell
Laura Waddell is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Biology, as well as having done graduate work in Zoology. She has been working in the animal behavior field for 18 years. After working in the Philadelphia shelter system she went on to apprentice with other trainers, and started K9 Problemsolvers in 2000 after seeing a dire need for help for those dogs who were deemed “untrainable”.
Laura is a member of the APDT, IACP, ACABC and is a AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, and has worked in the rescue field for over 15 years.
Her current dedication is to Heavenly Huskies of NYC, a Siberian Husky Rescue based in Brooklyn, NY, and currently owns an Alaskan Husky named Anna and two Golden Muttskys named Loki and Layla.

Is your young dog running you ragged? Need help getting control over your crazy canine? Then this is the class for you! Specifically geared towards the adolescent dog, we'll show you how to get that precocious pup to slow down, with instruction on such basic commands as sit, down, stay, come, and the all important leave it and drop it commands. We'll also show you how to control his impulses and make you an effective leader of the pack!

Advanced Obedience : Laura Waddell

Looking to take your dog to the highest level? This is the class that will get you and your canine companion there! Geared toward the goal of off leash reliability, this class will teach people to become great handlers and dogs to be the best they can be. Instruction includes competition heeling, perfecting the recall under any situation or distraction, how to finish a command with a flourish, and much more!

Board & Train: Laura Waddell

Board and train includes accommodations in our standard suite of 25 sq. ft. featuring a raise Kuranda bed with fleece blanket, daily playtime and one-on-one obedience training. Basic commands taught include "sit," "stay," "come," "heel" and "drop it." Training methods are the same for each program and include one-on-one session with your trainer at the conclusion of the program (2 one-on-one trainer sessions for the 2 week program).
Please note: There are certain behaviors that cannot be addressed with these programs; such as housbreaking, aggression, barking or other serious behavioral issues. We will be happy to refer you to one of our trainers or behaviorists for addressing these issues in your home.
